The Southeastern Council of Latin American Studies (SECOLAS) is pleased to announce a call for paper and panel abstract submissions for SECOLAS’s 74th Annual Meeting, to be held March 11-13, 2027, at the Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City in Charlotte, NC.

SECOLAS invites faculty members, independent scholars, and students to submit panel andindividual paper proposals for participation in the conference.

SECOLAS welcomes submissions on any aspect of Latin American and/or Caribbean Studies.

Graduate student presenters will be eligible to submit their paper for the Breanna C. DavidStudent Paper Award for the best paper presented at the SECOLAS meeting.

After the conference, all presenters will be eligible to submit their paper for publication consideration in the SECOLAS Annals issue of The Latin Americanist, an international, peer-reviewed journal published by SECOLAS.

* Please note that panels will run all-day Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (March 11, 12, and 13).

The Southeastern Council of Latin American Studies (SECOLAS) is a non-political and non-profit association of individuals interested in Latin America established in 1953. Its objectives are the promotion of interest in Latin America, scholarly research pertaining to Latin America in all fields, and the increase of friendly contacts among the peoples of the Americas. SECOLAS is a 501(c)3 organization.
